1st Year Celebration – Part 3: Buffet Lunch @ Rakuzen, Chulan Square

Western food – ate liao

Ice cream – also taken d…so left…

our favorite food, Japanese cuisine!!!

This time we went to Rakuzen @ Jalan Raja Chulan for an eat all you want buffet lunch.

I kinda like Rakuzen interior as compared to Tenji and Jogoya, maybe cos they seated us at the corner and it felt more restaurant type, or perhaps it’s due to the service they gave – somehow I felt more privilege here (especially at the cost we were paying) as compared to the rest~

Display at the entrance - lotsa Japanese wine

Some deco behind our table
Nicely crafted leaf shape wasabi

The order all you want menu - quite extensive isn't it???

B - the hungry walrus

Other than the standard time limit, in this case, Rakuzen buffet is from 12pm to 3pm, every Sunday, priced at RM55++ per adult, Rakuzen has a slightly different ‘buffet’ concept than Tenji or Jogoya.

Rather than laying out all their cuisine all over the place for patrons to indulge at their own service, here, they give patrons a special ‘buffet’ menu, a menu where u just use your finger to point to whatever item in it that you wish to have and they will deliver it to your table. So easy…

Step 1 : Browse menu

Step 2 : Use finger and point to whatever item you want

Step 3 : Indicate how many serving of each item

Step 4 : Wait for the food to arrive and start enjoying your meal =)

Hehe…

And order we did…quite a lot too...we had all the items below and more:

Tempura prawns

California roll - soft shell crab, salmon, etc.

Salmon Salad

Tori Karaage

Sashimi - lotsa it

And lotsa lotsa lotsa green tea ice cream – I can’t even remember how many we had already ^^

Overall I think the meal is quite enjoyable, only thing is the place gets a bit noisy once it’s full, so the atmosphere minus mark sikit~

Remember to call and book before you go, just in case it's full house la, I did my reservation within the week and it's still available, contact details is here =)

1st Year Celebration – Part 2: Haagen Dazs Fondue @ Midvalley

Part 2 is the long awaited steamboat ice cream aka the famous HD Fondue. B owed me quite a number of these due to some stupid bet we had a couple of months back and it has always been on my list to go for it. Our first attempt to have it failed though cos the portion is a lil too big for 2 to finish right after dinner, so this time, we went during brunch =)

Went to the HD outlet in Midvalley and straight away order a set of their heavenly HD Fondue. To tell the truth, I almost forgot how good it tasted already lo and this is such a lovely reminder…

Tools to dipped the ice cream

Waiting eagerly...for the arrival of...

the 16 biji ice cream, 4 each for each flavor...

with fruits...

cookies, cakes and waffles...

dip, dip, dip...lai makan makan

The set cost around RM80 I think…can’t remember, but the choco is thick and so freaking nice to dipped with ice cream ooooOOO~

A piece of advise for all that wanna go for it – always, ALWAYS attack the ice cream 1st cos otherwise it will melt from the burning candle that heat the choco and it’ll be such a waste then! Mine also started to melt liao by the time I finish taking pic on it…so pandai pandai la ye.

But then again, by the time you finish the 16 biji of ice cream, my bet is your throat will be a lil dry to continue with the cookies and others liao. Or maybe it was just us who are way too kiasu, dipped way too much choco and ended up drinking at least 6 glasses of water each by the time we finish the set. Haha….sek tak mou sai ma, especially more so since the choco is so tempting.

And there goes our part 2 meal, to be continue with Rakuzen, Japanese Buffet Lunch soon…

1st Year Celebration – Part 1: Chillis @ 1Utama

B and I celebrated our 1st year anniversary over a month ago. I know this update is kinda late, but I’m busy packing, moving house and buying house – this is all very stressful and hard work k :P

So anyway, instead of sticking to the fine dining plan B suggested, I decided to break it into a 3 makan deal – lower budget and get to eat at 3 different place le, more tai ma ^^

Part 1 is dinner at Chillis, chosen simply because we were window shopping at 1Utama after a working Friday and thus decided to early kick start our celebration.

We were both into fire that night and hence, our dinner choice for the night:

B's: Firecracker Fish Fillet

Mine: Fire Grilled Chicken Fajita Quesadillas

Some drinks to cool down the 'fire' which btw, is not hot at all pun la

Mine was great, B stole nearly half of my plate of food, while B’s order is just so so only.

So lesson learnt for the night is: Gals choose better food, haha…kidding la

Damage for the night is close to RM90, but I think at least my half of the food is worth it, very yummylicious J

To be continue...

Own Home =)

I've been on a lookout for a new place to stay since like 2 months ago. Initially I just wanted to rent a place, but somehow the idea of getting my own home seems quite do-able.

I've located the area, the neighbourhood, just looking for the right house in which the most important consideration I had was the budget. I've just join the workforce for 3 years + so budget is my main constraint but after meeting with certain bank officers and reading online, I kinda know my max and started to look around for a house that match it. I don't really need a big one, just a comfy one will do.

And finally, I took the big step and took a big risk, I went to an auction house to bid for this property that I set my eyes on for over a week. It is indeed a big risk for me as this is my first house, I'm putting my savings on it and I've got no idea how the condition is inside!!!

But thank god - I managed to bid it at a very reasonable price. Finally, I will have my own home, instead of a rented room, I own a house now, well, a small apartment actually, a place that though is not luxurious nor big, but it's mine, a place which I got on my own.

At least, I felt like I've achieved something - something of my own. All the research, asking around, reading done, really did increase my knowledge on property, not a lot but way more than I know before this.

I'll post pic of the apartment soon, now need to start planning for all the other stuffs, another journey begins...
